Neuroinclusion in Practice: Helping People and Teams Work Well Together

  Monday 16 November 2026, 10:30 (UK time) · 120 minutes

  With Maisie Cass

  Free

A practical, interactive workshop led by Maisie Cass of Diversity Does. It explores neurodivergence in real working life, confident conversations, team dynamics and practical adjustments that help people and teams work well together.

ABOUT THE SESSION

Most leaders want to support people well. But what does meaningful neuroinclusion actually look like in a busy school or educational workplace?

When a capable colleague struggles with a seemingly simple task, or a performance concern has an unidentified barrier beneath it, knowing how to respond isn’t always straightforward.

This practical, interactive workshop moves beyond labels and assumptions to explore what’s really influencing people’s experiences at work — and how curiosity, confident conversations and thoughtful adjustments can help more people thrive, without lowering expectations.

TOGETHER WE’LL EXPLORE

  • Neurodivergence in real working life — looking beyond labels, stereotypes and assumptions.
  • Understanding what’s beneath behaviour — how communication, executive function, sensory needs, cognitive load and nervous-system responses can influence workplace experiences.
  • Conversations with confidence — asking helpful questions with Curiosity, Confidence and Compassion, without requiring disclosure or making assumptions.
  • Practical adjustments that reduce friction — exploring proportionate changes to communication, workload, environments and expectations.
  • Balancing individual needs and team dynamics — navigating competing needs, misunderstandings and workplace friction while supporting individuals and maintaining effective, collaborative teams.
  • Capability, capacity and consistency — recognising why being able to do something doesn’t always mean being able to do it consistently.
  • Neuroinclusion by design — moving from reactive individual support towards everyday leadership practices that help more people thrive.

WHAT YOU’LL TAKE AWAY

  • Greater confidence in understanding and supporting neurodivergent colleagues.
  • Practical language and questions to use in everyday conversations.
  • Ideas for identifying and reducing unnecessary workplace friction.
  • A clearer understanding of how to support individuals without lowering professional expectations.
  • A downloadable Neuroinclusion in Practice Mini-Workbook to turn reflection into practical next steps.
